This is part of our strategy to restructure and expand the vineyard in the most progressive and ecological way. We have been planting cover crops of cereals, flowers and legumes over plots at rest in order to boost bioactivity. These crops are used in place of chemical fertilisers, with great results. They improve the ground’s mineral and azote content, and strengthen its structure thanks to the plants’ root system. Once grown, the plants are crushed into the ground, nourishing the soil before further plantations. It takes three years to obtain proper results. We plan to extend this practice to the whole estate, between the rows of existing vines.
