Our Wines
The Great Wine of the Luberon
Robert Parker, the American wine critic, gave Château de Mille his highest mark in the region in the mid-eighties. We are committed to earning this recognition again. The Château has launched a massive programme, designed to produce the best red, rose and white wines based on modern, sustainable and organic methods.
Our old vines produce low yields (20hl/ha or less) but concentrated, aromatic grapes. Their northern exposure, altitude and cold nights give the wines exceptional vivacity and tension.
Our 2022 harvest was certified organic by Ecocert. The state-of-the-art winery preserves the quality of the grapes, which we sort carefully on the vines and on the sorting table. They are then mostly destemmed in our wonderful Dream machine, gravity-poured in concrete vats for maceration. White grapes are slowly pressured in the pneumatic temperature-controlled pressoir.
Vinification and ageing occur in concrete and thermo-regulated stainless vats, as well as oak vats, concrete eggs and terracotta amphoras. This range of receptacles enables us to fine-tune our blends and aging methods, suited to our various grapes. We vinify with minimum intervention and make wines that fully reflect the quality of our terroir.
